The MALTO research conference is a forum for graduate, undergraduate and professional program (Pharm.D.) students and postdoctoral fellows to present their research and engage in discussions in an atmosphere of fellowship. The MALTO meeting also serves as a platform for faculty from the Schools/Colleges of Pharmacy of six southern States, namely, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and Oklahoma to discuss and exchange ideas of drug discovery-related research in the medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy disciplines.
The MALTO organization was founded in 1973.

Awarded to the best student podium presentation as judged by faculty. Award consists of a plaque and cash prize.
